Legal
LIOBOX² license contract
The scripts provided for ABLETON, BITWIG and REAPER are strictly reserved for use with the LIOBOX² controller. It is strictly forbidden to modify or use for any other purpose the scripts provided at the time of download. GOOROO CONTROLLERS cannot be held responsible for any damage to the LIOBOX² or other third-party equipment resulting from modification or misuse of the script or software supplied, other than as provided for in this manual.
GOOROO CONTROLLERS is the sole owner of the software embedded in the LIOBOX², as well as the scripts supplied at the time of purchase. The sale of the LIOBOX² does not constitute a sale of the embedded software or the corresponding script.
GOOROO CONTROLLERS grants a non-exclusive license to use the software under the terms and conditions of this contract. The customer may not rent, lend or license the software.
Declaration of conformity
Use of the LIOBOX² for purposes other than those described in this manual may result in non-conformity of the equipment and its accessories.
The LIOBOX² complies with the requirements of European Directive 89/336/EEC. Modifying the device or using accessories not supplied by GOOROO CONTROLLERS may result in the equipment being banned from use in Europe.
The LIOBOX² meets FCC requirements. Modifying the device or using accessories not supplied by GOOROO CONTROLLERS may result in prohibition of use in the USA.

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and Arthur Kotkowiak ("Licensor") for the software application accompanying this Agreement, which includes computer software and may include associated media, printed materials, and "online" or electronic documentation ("Software").
BY INSTALLING, COPYING, OR OTHERWISE USING THE SOFTWARE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE.
1. Grant of License
Licensor grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to install and use one (1) copy of the Software on a single device running macOS, strictly for your own personal or internal professional use.
2. Restrictions
You shall not, and shall not permit any third party to:
- Copy: Reproduce, distribute, or transmit the Software, except for a single archival backup copy.
- Resell: Sell, rent, lease, lend, redistribute, sublicense, or otherwise transfer the Software or any rights granted hereunder to any third party.
- Reverse Engineer: Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by the licenses of the included LGPL components (Qt and libusb).
- Modify: Create derivative works of or modify any portion of the Software.
- Remove Notices: Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices contained in the Software.
3. Intellectual Property & Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. Licensor retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual property rights therein. This Agreement does not grant you any rights to trademarks or service marks of the Licensor.
4. Third-Party Components
The Software incorporates third-party software libraries. Your use of these components is subject to their respective licenses:
- Qt Framework & libusb: Licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). You are permitted to replace these dynamically linked libraries with compatible versions.
- Sparkle, QOSC, RtMidi & LibreMidi: Licensed under the MIT License.
- Pro Tools PTSL SDK: Pro Tools and PTSL are trademarks of Avid Technology, Inc. This application is an independent integration and is not endorsed by Avid.
- dfu-util: Licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. Used to perform USB DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) firmware updates on Gooroo hardware.
Full attribution and license texts for these components are available in the "About" or "Third-Party Licenses" section of the Software, and are reproduced below.
5. Data & Privacy
The Software may communicate with external servers (e.g., Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Run) to check for updates via the Sparkle framework or to transmit application logs for diagnostic purposes. By using the Software, you consent to the collection of technical data and related information that is gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates and support.
6. Termination
This Agreement is effective until terminated. Your rights under this License will terminate automatically without notice from the Licensor if you fail to comply with any term(s) of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in your possession.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. LICENSOR DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR PERSONAL INJURY, OR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE.
9. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, excluding its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under this Agreement will be brought exclusively in the courts located in France or European Union.
General disclaimer
This software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the software or the use or other dealings in the software.
